About Eastside Exterminators
Eastside Exterminators has been protecting families across the Greater Seattle area since 1969. Founded by Ralph James Townsend, Jr.—Jim, as we know him—our company began as a small, family-run business. Jim built Eastside Exterminators on the values passed down from his father, one of Washington’s pest control pioneers. With a mission to protect homes and create safer environments, Jim’s personal touch and expertise made Eastside a trusted name in pest control.
In 2000, Jim passed the company to his daughter, Deanna Townsend, who had worked alongside him for over a decade. Deanna and her business partner, Alex Altizer, grew Eastside Exterminators from a team of 12 to the leading local company it is today. In 2008, they expanded with Eastside Insulation, providing full-service insulation solutions alongside pest control. Their vision was simple: protect homes, inside and out, with the same family values Jim had instilled.

In 2023, Eastside Exterminators joined Anticimex, a global leader in pest control. While this new partnership brings cutting-edge technology and resources, we’ve kept our core values intact.
